Be Attentive to Your Personal Life

One of the most important factors in creating  the  success we desire AND deserve  is how “rich” our  own personal energy “bank account” is.

Is your “personal energy” bank account stocked up, or is your energy bank account dangerously low, perhaps near bankruptcy?

Here’s a very public case in point:

Oprah spoke about this very topic on her kick off episode of her show .Oprah shared that her infamous struggle with her weight while the world watched has taken a huge toll on her this past year. With her incredibly packed schedule with very little downtime, Oprah “hit the wall” and used food as a way to soothe her stress. This choice  obviously created  her more stress. As she became heavier, more  out of shape and emotionally drained with her personal struggle  it affected every aspect of her life, professionally and personally. Can you imagine if your struggles were documented by the press every step of the way! Yikes. Wha I really appreciated about her public conversation about this is we can all learn from it.

I coach my clients  to “get real” about their life.I do this with an assessment that easily reveals how well they are taking care of themselves.  There are 4 basic quadrants to your “energy bank account: your health & emotional well-beingyour finances, the quality of your relationships and your  environments.  Ask yourself, in each of these 4 arenas, how close to 100% am I?

The million dollar question, is how well do you support yourself? It’s pretty common for entrepreneurs to  overdo it, to overwork, and overcare for others at their own expense. It’s not a selfish thing to take excellent care of yourself, it’s actually quite a generous thing to do.

Let’s face it, if you are exhausted, stressed out, overworked,, and feeling less than fantastic, then you can’t possibly give to the best of your abilities. Your talents and contributions are dulled by your lack of energy and enthusiasm.

  1. “Clean Sweep” Your Life- Get real about your lifestyle choices. Is how you live fully supporting who you are,  for your Vision of Success and your business goals?
  2. Excellent Self Care Program- Commit to a daily routine that supports you in the 4 quadrants ( health,environment,finances & relationships)
  3. Get Support!- Avoid the “Lone Ranger” mindset–Create your own “Dream Team”, Do you have your own coach? Is it time to add a health advisor or financial advisor to your team?

The bottom line: the “cleaner your life is, the more success, meaning and fulfillment you will experience!
